Process application:
 
Temperature

Coating layer solution is atomized before applying to tablet core. When the temperature is too high, coating solution becomes dry before reaching tablet core which leads to certain coating solution loss, increase tablets abrasion and affect coating result. When the temperature is too low, tablets may stick with each other and cause also bad result. AM coating machine control intake air temperature precision within 2 ℃, together with on-line tablet bed and exhaust air monitoring for reference.
 
Air flow

Unstable air flow also causes bad coating result. AM PLC will automatically regulate blower with exhaust air fan to control negative pressure inside coating pan while ensuring adequate air flow. User set negative pressure range and exhaust air flow from touch screen. System also prevents exhaust air backflow after machine stop.
 
Baffle

AM unique streamlined baffle has S and X shape. S shape baffle improves material uniformity and flow at low speed, X shape baffle helps material separation. Comparing to common baffles in the market, AM baffle design improves gastric product uniformity by 10%, enteric product by 20%, whereas reduce sugar coating black edge by 20%, reduce abrasion by 20%. The flaw of the common baffles design lies in their large area in the front and small in the end, which leads to V and Z material flow, increases material impact, low uniformity and increase abrasion. Especially for sugar coating, tablets are brought to high position and fall and break.

Spray gun

AM coating machine spray gun is self research and developed precision component. The spray gun with 360° adjustable spray angle, enlarged atomization area, nozzle cleaning to prevent plugging, minimum coating solution loss, made of stainless steel 316L, no tools easy washing, lower requirement for negative pressure and good layer forming result.

BY-Ⅱ-T film coating spray gun design with CFD software simulation, which optimized air flow pattern around nozzle and air pass inside.
